Our Review: We are huge fans of all of Britax’s seats and feel that they offer the ultimate in safety protection for your child. The Roundabout 55 is no exception as it is packed with safety and comfort features to keep your child comfy on long and short car rides and super safe in the event of a crash. The seat can be used from birth from as low as 5 pounds, though you may need to purchase an infant insert to properly fit your child in the seat. To easily install the seat you can use the LATCH connectors, or use your lap and shoulder seat belt with Britax’s built in lock off feature that ensures a tight fit. To keep the seat clean the cover of the seat removes easily without having to remove the seat from the car and slips off with ease over the five point harness.


The Britax Roundabout 55 is a convertible car seat that holds infants and toddlers 5-40 pounds rear facing and forward facing up to 55 pounds and 46 inches tall.  The Roundabout is all about safety as it features Britax’s patented SafeCell Technology which lowers the center of gravity and prevents the child from launching forward in a crash, as well as integrated steel bars that strengthen the car seat shell and the connection to your car preventing your child from flexing forward in a crashing, and an energy absorbing versa tether that anchors the top of the child seat. With Side Impact Protection the seat sidewalls are lined with energy absorbing EPP foam to absorb crash forces and protect the head, neck, and child’s body. For ease of use for parents, the seat has a tangle free 5 point harness, and LATCH connectors that make installation a snap. To make the ride more comfortable the Roundabout has forward and rear facing recline, high density foam for extra padding, removable seat cover that is machine washable and available accessories that are sold separately. With lots of fabric options you are sure to find one that will match your car’s interior.
