An engineer, David Saint; also a father of 9, who worked at Graco had told Cone about an associate that had told him a story of how his wife would soothe their cranky baby by swinging with the baby in a glider swing. Saint then came up with a baby swing about 18 months later called the Swyngomatic, and Graco had officially entered the baby products business. Over the next few years millions of these swings were sold and Graco became a worldwide leading manufacturer of juvenile products. Graco continued to introduce new items and each item set the standard in the business. In 1987 another innovative item was created by Nate Saint, the son of the Swyngomatic creator, called the Pack n Play portable playard, this item is still a must on any parents list even today! Another innovative item they created was the travel system, which parents loved because you could easily transfer a sleeping baby from the car to the stroller without waking up a sleeping baby.
