Beco Baby Carriers were designed by an active stay at home mom, Gabby Caperon that initially started her business as a baby diaper cover maker. Gabby was also a hiker, rock climber and active sailor, who upon the arrival of her first child was anxious to carry her child in a carrier and get back to the great outdoors with her son.
The carrier that she used did not fit comfortably and needed much readjustment while on her first outing, she then began to do research on how mothers carry their babies, and then decided she could make a carrier that would work better for her needs. Another mom liked this initial creation so much that she bought it from Gabby in the checkout line at the grocery store! She then started a website making more of her creations and officially stopped making diaper covers. Her initial carriers were Mei Tais and Onbuhimos, and as her son grew and got heavier she realized she needed more support and chopped the straps on the carriers and added double ring slings at the waist and sides of the carriers, and then she decided the carrier needed padding and she looked to her favorite hiking backpack for inspiration. She finally made the Mei Tai look and work like her favorite backpack and this is how the Beco Baby Carrier was born!
We are big fans of the Beco Baby Carriers and crave all of the fashionable designs these carriers are available in! Our favorite carrier is the Butterfly 2, we like the easy on and off design, the included removable head rest and infant insert, the ability to carry front or back accommodating infants to toddlers from 7 to 45 pounds! We also love that these are sewn here in the USA in a small sewing shop in Costa Mesa, California. We think that all active parents will love this carrier and will find it enjoyable to carry their babies in comfort and ultimate style!
